• MAPLE GROVE TOWNSHIP BOARD will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, in the township hall, 17010 Lincoln Road. • MONTROSE TOWNSHIP BOARD OF TRUSTEES will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16 in the Township Hall, 139 S. Saginaw.

• NEW LOTHROP LIONS CLUB will meet at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at the New Lothrop Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. • CHESANING AREA SNOWMOBILERS ASSOCIATION will meet at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 17, at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Chesaning. CHARLES LIONS CLUB will meet on Thursday, Oct. 18 at noon at the St. Charles United Methodist Church, 301 W. Belle St., St. Charles. • The MONTROSE BLUEBERRY FESTIVAL COMMITTEE will meet at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18 at the Montrose Historical and Telephone Pioneer Museum. Visitors should contact the festival by phone at (810) 639- 3475 or email at montroseblueberryfestival@hotmail.com one week prior to the meeting in order to be placed on the agenda. • The TAYMOUTH HISTORICAL ASSOCIATION will meet on Monday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. at the Taymouth Library (note new day change). Final plans will be made on the upcoming program on the loss of the Edmond Fitzgerald and for the Veterans’ Day observance. There will also be a Share and Tell. FOOD AND FELLOWSHIP

• St. Robert Catholic Church’s SUPER SALAD BUFFET AND BINGO will be held on Sunday, Oct. 21, at the St. Robert Activity Center, 310 N. Cherry St., Flushing. Doors open at 11:45 a.m. with buffet at 12:15 p.m. and bingo starting at 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $10, advance sales only. Admission includes buffet, coffee/tea and regular bingo. Tables may be reserved for advance purchase of 10 or more tickets. No walk-in reservations will be accepted the day of bingo. There will be bingo prizes galore plus door prizes and welcome gifts. For more information, call (810) 659-2501. • The New Lothrop VFW Auxiliary 6579 will be holding their semi-annual CLASSIC BEEF PASTIE SALE on Oct. 23. Place orders by calling Susan Jacobs at (810) 496-7647. The cost is $4 each. Pick up will be at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 400 N Saginaw St., Montrose on Oct. 23, after 4 p.m. • The Chesaning Knights of Columbus will host a SOCIAL NIGHT from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, at the Chesaning K of C Hall. The menu includes hamburgers, cheeseburgers, sloppy joes, coney dogs, brats, nachos and cheese, fries and onion rings. Social nights are open to the public. • Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Montrose will be hosting a PULLED PORK AND TURKEY ROLL DINNER on Saturday, Oct. 27 at the Family Life Center from 5 to 7 p.m. A menu of pulled pork, turkey rolls, vegetables, salads, breads and desserts will be served. This is a free-will donation and a fundraiser for the needs of the parish. • St. Charles United Methodist Church will host its HARVEST DINNER on Saturday, Nov. 3 from 5 to 7 pm. The cost is $9 for adults, $5 for children ages 5-12, and free for ages 4 and under. The menu will include turkey and dressing with all the trimmings. Tickets and takeouts are available at the door at 5 p.m. • There will be a CHICKEN DINNER at the Henderson United Methodist Church on Saturday, Oct. 27. Take-outs and serving will be from 4:30 to 7 p.m. The menu includes baked chicken, baked or mashed potatoes, corn, cole slaw, biscuits and gravy, pie or cake. The cost is $7 for adults, $3.50 for ages 12 and under, and free for preschoolers. • New Lothrop VFW Post #6579’s regular COUNTRY SUNDAY BREAKFASTS will re-open on Sunday, Oct. 21 from 9 to 11 a.m. The cost is $7 for adults, $4 for children ages 6 to 12 years, and free for those under age 6. Parties of 10 or more are asked to call in a reservation so a table can be set up. • The Montrose United Methodist Church will host a SOUP AND PIE SUPPER on Thursday, Oct. 18 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the church, 158 State St., Montrose. Donation is $5. • The New Lothrop Hugh McCurdy Masonic Lodge will host a CHICKEN DINNER on Wednesday, Oct. 24 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the New Lothrop United Methodist Church on Orchard Street. The cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children ages 5 to 12, and free for those under age 5. • There will be an all-you-can-eat SOUP AND PIE SUPPER featuring homemade soup on Wednesday, Oct. 17, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of New Lothrop. The cost is $5 for adults, $2 for children.

• The SHIAWASSEE COUNTY MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS SELF-HELP GROUP will meet on Tuesday, Oct. 16 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the St. Johns United Church of Christ, 429 N. Washington St. in Owosso. ODDS & ENDS

• The eighth annual DOLL SHOW AND SALE will be held Sunday, Oct. 14 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Dom Polski Hall, 3415 N. Linden Road, Flint. There will be modern, collectible and antique dolls, Barbie and fashion dolls, accessories, clothing and related items. Admission is $2. Entrance is in the rear of the building. The bus leaves New Lothrop at 6:30 a.m. and will return at approximately 11 p.m. It will arrive in Chicago near the Magnificent Mile. The cost is $80 per person, and there are a limited number of seats. Money and confirmation are needed by Oct. 29. It will be a great opportunity to Christmas shop or sight see in Chicago. CHURCHES

• ST. CHARLES SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST COMMUNITY CENTER is open the first and third Thursday of every month from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. The center is located at the corner of Clinton and Marcy Streets in St. Charles, and serves those who are in need of gently used clothing, household items and furniture (when available). The center also accept donations of gently used clothing, household items and furniture. Interested persons should stop by if they need assistance or have any questions.

BAZAARS AND CRAFT SHOWS

• The newly formed Chesaning-Brady Fire Department Auxiliary will hold a CRAFT SHOW on Saturday, Oct. 27, from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. at the Fire Station One in Chesaning, on M-57 west of Fourth Street. Anyone interested in being a vendor should call (989) 845-7255 or (989) 245-4155. • The women of Trinity United Methodist Church will host a FALL BAZAAR on Saturday, Nov. 17 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Interested persons should reserve a spot now. The cost is $15 per table, $20 after the Oct. 30 deadline. To reserve a space, contact Ellen Kress at (989) 845-6229. • A CRAFT BAZAAR fundraiser for the Chesaning Area Emergency Relief (CAER) Center and the Chesaning Senior Citizen Center will be held on Saturday, Nov. 10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Big Rock Elementary School. Please bring a non-perishable food item or cash donation per person for the entry fee. Other cash donations will be accepted. Vendors can secure tables by calling (989) 865-6679 or the church office at (989) 865-9091. • There will be a CHRISTMAS BAZAAR AND COOKIE WALK at the Montrose United Methodist Church, 158 E. FUNDRAISERS

• The St. Paul Catholic Church HARVEST DINNER/RAFFLE will be Saturday, Oct. 27 in the Fr. Kolenski Hall at the church, 11 N. Howell St., Owosso. The doors open at 5:30 p.m. for judging of pumpkins designed by the St. Paul School and Religious Education students. Dinner and raffle will follow. Tickets are $5 each, six for $25 or 15 for $50. All proceeds will benefit the school, religious education, and youth group. The event takes place at Trinity United Methodist Church from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Goodie bags, make-n-takes, silent auction, vendors and raf?es will all be part of the fun. Lunch and dinner will be provided. The cost is $40 per person if registered before Oct. 13, $50 after that date. HEALTH & SAFETY

• The Montrose Senior Center will be offering FLU SHOTS on Thursday, Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Forms are available and need to be filled out at least a week prior to the event. The center is located at 200 Alfred St., Montrose. Phone (810) 639-2822 for more informaton.

REUNIONS

• The CHESANING UNION HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1967 is planning its 45th reunion on Nov. 10 at the Golden Glow Ballroom. The cost is $30 for singles and $60 for couples. Send reservations with payment to Sue (Hudecek) Ginderske, 1633 Lynn St., Owosso, MI by Oct. 15. • NEW LOTHROP AREA PUBLIC SCHOOLS BOARD OF EDUCATION will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, for a regular meeting in the elementary school cafeteria, 9387 Genesee St., New Lothrop.
