Postmaster comes home to Chesaning

Chesaning Postmaster Jim Malcolm Chesaning Postmaster Jim Malcolm CHESANING – On Thursday, Oct. 11, Postmaster Jim Malcolm started work at a new office, in familiar surroundings. He’s now serving as postmaster for Chesaning, the community where he attended high school; and where his father, John Malcolm served as high school principal for more than 30 years. And while his father has since passed away, his mother, Pat, continues to live in Chesaning.

Malcolm has served with the U.S. Postal Service for 27 years, including several years as Oakley’s postmaster, and most recently, as postmaster in St. Charles.

He worked at the IGA grocery store in Chesaning for 13 years before going into the postal service.

Malcolm said, “I’m glad to be working here. We buy our groceries here. We go to church here. It’s great!”
