Spring Lego Exhibit/Contest: Have you started your entry for our Spring Lego Exhibit and Contest? This contest is open to the public, and no library card is necessary to take part. All ages are welcome to participate, with trophies awarded to top finishers in each age division as well as to the People’s Choice and Facebook Favorite picks. Drop-off dates are Thursday, March 27 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, March 29 from noon to 4 p.m., with entries displayed at the library through April 3. Money-Smart Kids Storytime: Thanks to a sponsorship from the Michigan Credit Union League and the support of the Library of Michigan, River Rapids District Library will be holding a free story hour for kids ages 3-5 on Tuesday, April 8 at 10:30 a.m. Join us as we read The Berenstain Bears’ Trouble with Money and learn about being money-smart kids. Take home a free book, too (while supplies last). Pre-registration is required and spaces are limited, so call (989) 845-3211 to sign up your child today.

May Story Hour Session: Our regular story hour sessions will resume at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday May 6 and run on Tuesdays through May 27. This hour-long program is for 3 and 4-year-olds. The child’s parent or guardian must have a library card to participate, and advance registration is required. The program is limited to ten children, so be sure to sign up early. Call (989) 845-3211 to sign up or stop by the library circulation desk.

If you are interested in taking a Windows 8.1 class, please contact the library at (989) 865-9371. The cost will be $30 and will include a take home instruction manual. Dates and time of class will be determined based on interest.

The library will start accepting book donations for our Friends Spring Book Sale on Monday, March 24. The library will accept donations of books if they are in good, usable condition. We do not accept text books, old encyclopedias, Readers Digest Condensed version books, or magazines.

The Knitting Group will meet on Tuesday, March 25, at 10 p.m. The knitting group is open to anyone who would like to learn how to knit or just knit and share project ideas.

The St. Charles District Library Board will meet on Sunday, April 6, at 6:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

The Book Discussion Group will meet on Monday, April 7, at 6 p.m. to discuss the book My Name is Mary Sutter by Robin Oliviera.

Friend of the Library Spring Book and Bake Sale: one day only, Friday, April 11, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Taymouth Township Library would like to thank Meijer of Birch Run, Cinema Hollywood and the Friends of the Library for sponsoring our Adult Reading Program this year. Our weekly winners were: Jennifer Hoornstra, Rob Robbins, Sheila Taylor, Elbert Robbins, Crystal Meyers, Suzanne Campbell, Deb Windels, Kandy Munsell, and Janice Benham. Our category winners were: Linda Garno, Judy Robbins, Rob Robbins, Ronnie Perry, Elizabeth Garza, Paul Rocha, Austin Smith, and Lynn Roebuck. The winner of the grand prize was Delia Ramon. There were also seven Cinema Hollywood passes given away. Please pick up your prize bag at the library if you participated in the program.
