Book Discussion Group: Our selection for the June book discussion is Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty. Stop by the library and pick up a copy then join us on Wednesday, July 15, at 7 p.m. for discussion and refreshments.

Summer Reading: Registration for summer reading continues until July 24th. The theme this year is Every Hero Has a Story. We have many fun activities and incentives planned for this summer. Be a superhero and read!

Teen Program: On June 30, 2 - 3 p.m., Carol Somer from Mid-Michigan Waste Authority will be here to teach our teens about recycling and will show them how they can make writing paper using recycling materials.

Kids Program: From 2 to 3 p.m. on July 2, our kids will be able to make their very own super hero cape. All materials will be provided.

Summer Hours: Monday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Tuesday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Wednesday - Closed, Thursday 10 a.m. – 8 p.m., Friday – 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Saturday - Closed.

We serve Chapin and Marion Township in Saginaw County, and we also serve Gratiot County.

We offer computer access, wi-fi, coupons, magazines, newspapers and MEL (a book interloan system). Come in and check us out.

The Summer Hours are: Tuesday noon - 7 p.m., Wed. & Thurs. 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Our children’s Summer Reading Program begins Tuesday July 7 with a free lunch for children at 12:30 and the Super Bear Magic Show at 1:30. There will be a free lunch for children and an activity every Tuesday and Thursday through July 30.

On July 7, lunch is at 12:30 and magic show at 1:30 p.m.

On July 9, Officer Litwiller will visit at 10 a.m., followed by lunch 11 a.m.-1p.m.

On July 14, lunch is at 12:30, then “Thank a Vet / Make a card.”

On July 16, lunch is at 12:30, followed by Super Hero Mask.

On July 21, lunch is at 12:30, followed by a visit from the Ashley Rescue/ Fire/ Helicopter.

On July 23, lunch is at 12:30, followed by the Super Hero glider.

On July 28, lunch is at 12:30, followed by Super Hero Legos.

On July 30, lunch is at 12:30, time to celebrate!

The Libri Foundation awarded a special non-matching Books for Children grant to the St. Charles District Library thanks to a generous and anonymous donation. The library will be able to select about 60 new books for our children’s collection!

June is Amnesty Month!! Return any overdue or lost item during the month of June and ALL FEES AND FINES associated with that item will be waived (excluding debt collection fees if applicable).

On June 30, July 1 & 2 at 10 a.m. there’s S’more Fun! at the New Lothrop Branch. Camp out in the library with a good book and enjoy a s’more. This quest will count towards the Foodie badge. Phone 810-638- 7575 to register.

July 7 at 4 p.m. it’s the Super Hero Costume Workshop at the New Lothrop Branch. Bring a t-shirt and learn how to turn it into a cape and mask. This quest counts towards the Super Hero badge. Phone 810- 638-7575 to register.

July 8 at 11 a.m. the Dr. Slime Science Program will be held at the New Lothrop Branch. Phone 810-638-7575 to register.

Attending the programs counts as quests for those enrolled in the Summer Badge Blast program.
