GOVERNMENT MEETINGS

• CHESANING VILLAGE PLANNING COMMISSION will meet at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28, in the council chambers at the village office, 1100 W. Broad St., Chesaning.

CLUBS AND CIVIC GROUPS

• CHESANING LIONS CLUB members will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 28 at the Lions Hall, 17200 Corunna Road, Chesaning.

• MONTROSE AMERICAN LEGION POST #367 will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, at the Montrose Senior Citizen Center, 200 Alfred St. Any veteran who wishes to learn more about joining the legion may attend.

• CHESANING AREA TASK FORCE meets at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 28 at the Chesaning Chamber of Commerce office. The Task Force encourages visitors and welcomes requests to be placed on the agenda. Anyone interested in serving on the Task Force board in the future or seeking information about Task Force can call (989) 845-6061.

FUNDRAISERS

• There will be a FUNDRAISER FOR JACOB BISHOP on Saturday, July 9 from 5 to 11 p.m. at the Chesaning Knights of Columbus Hall, 9171 Dietering Rd., Chesaning. Bishop has cancer of the lymph nodes, and the benefit is being held to help with medical expenses. There will be raffles, food and karaoke. For more information, call (989) 295-2718.

CHURCHES

• All children 3 years old through sixth grade are invited to CAMP DISCOVERY at the New Lothrop Community Life Center June 27-30. At Camp Discovery, kids will have fun being kids as they explore the Bible, make new friends, play games, make crafts and have the option to attend discovery trips. The morning session is free and takes place on campus from 9:15- 11:45 a.m. There will also be off campus afternoon discovery trips from 11:45 a.m. – 4 p.m. for first – sixth grade at a cost (Discovery trips must be pre-registered). • Chesaning Bible Baptist Church will host FAMILY FUN TIME on July 13 to 16 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. with ventriloquism, illusions, face painting, games, hayrides, contests and more. The church is located at 811 S. Main Street in Chesaning (M-57). For more information, call (989) 323-0604.

ODDS & ENDS

• Saginaw County Fair PREMIUM BOOKS for 2016 are in. Books are available at the Saginaw County Agricultural Society office at the fairgrounds, River Rapids, St. Charles and Hemlock libraries, the Chesaning Area Chamber of Commerce office, and several businesses in Chesaning, or from a member of the SCAS board of directors. • The WFLA-ZCBJ Lodge #242 in Owosso will host a POLKA DANCE on Sunday, June 26, featuring Millie Okapal. Dancing will be from 2 to 6 p.m. The cost is $10 per person at the door, and the public is welcome to attend. There will be a cash bar and a bake sale. Coffee, sandwiches and dessert will also be available.

• The 2nd annual MONTROSE COMMUNITY YARD SALE will be held Saturday, July 16, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. It’s a chance to clean out storage and make some cash or shop; all in one location. Montrose United Methodist Church parking lot at 158 E. State St. Montrose. Call (810) 639-6925 for more information or to reserve your free spot by Friday, July 9. Space is limited. Tables available.

BAZAARS AND CRAFT SHOWS

• Vendors are wanted for a CRAFT BAZAAR to be held on Oct. 29 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1629 W. Brady Road, Chesaning. The bazaar will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost to vendor is $20 per table with lunch, $15 without lunch. Reservations made after Oct. 7 will be $25 with lunch, $20 without lunch. FOOD AND FELLOWSHIP

• Wednesday nights at Cole Park the YOUTH GROUP from Owosso Church of the Nazarene and Chesaning Church of the Nazarene will be getting together 7 to 8:30 for fun, food and games. Grades 6-12. Every Wednesday night until August 10th.

• There will be a ROAST BEEF DINNER on Friday, July 8, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1629 W. Brady Road, Chesaning. The cost is $10 per person. Tickets are available at the door, or for advance reservations, call (989) 845-3157.

SCHOOLS

• CHESANING UNION SCHOOLS BOARD OF EDUCATION will meet on Monday, June 27 in the middle school media center. A budget hearing will take place at 6:15 p.m., followed by the regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. The meeting was originally scheduled to be held in the high school, but has been moved to the middle school due to construction.

• MONTROSE COMMUNITY SCHOOLS BOARD OF EDUCATION will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 28 for a regular meeting in the Kuehn-Haven Middle School media center, 303 Ray St., Montrose.
