Mid-Michigan Waste Authority Holiday Light Recycling Drive runs through Jan. 15. Don’t throw out your old holiday lights – recycle them! The St. Charles District Library is a collection drop-off site.

The Hook & Needle Group is canceled for Tuesday, Dec. 26, at 1 p.m.

K’NEX Build Day! Come to the St. Charles Library on Wednesday, Dec. 27 from 2:30 – 6:30 p.m. to build some amazing things with our K’NEX build kits! The K’NEX kit will be out all day for you to come and go as you please. So come and have fun building with us!

OZOBOT! Thursday, Dec. 28, from 3 – 6 p.m., come into the St. Charles Library and check out our new robot friend! This program is a come-and-go-as-you-please event! Ozobot is a robot that runs off of colored code. See how different colors make Ozobot do different things! See if you can make Ozobot complete a maze. The choices are endless! So come on in and see what Ozobot can do!

The Adult Coloring Club will meet on Friday, Dec. 29, from 10 a.m. to noon. Participants may bring their own coloring supplies or use the supplies provided by the library. New members are encouraged to join the coloring group!

Book Discussion Group: Our selection for the December book discussion is X by Ilyasha Shabazz. This book is the Michigan Humanities Council’s pick for the 2017-2018 Great Michigan Read program. Stop by the library and pick up a copy, then join us on Wednesday, Dec. 20, at 7 p.m. for discussion and refreshments!

In-Stitches Knitting Group: Our knitting group continues to meet on the second Saturday of each month.

Family Movies: River Rapids Library hosts its Family Movie Day the first Saturday of each month. Patrons are encouraged to wear comfy clothes and bring their own pillows and blankets. Popcorn and drinks will be provided.

January Workshop: Alternative to Adobe Photoshop on Thursday, Jan. 11 at 6 p.m. We will introduce you to free alternatives to Photoshop and show you how to repair old photos. Registration is required for this class.

It is time for the annual Christmas drawing at the Taymouth Township Library. All proceeds from the $1 tickets will go toward the reading programs held for the community throughout the year. The grand prize will be a children’s sled full of gifts for the entire family. Second prize is a holiday gift set, and third prize is a bird-feeder with 50 pounds of sunflower seed. The tickets are available at the library and the Taymouth Township office. The drawing will be held on Monday, Dec. 18 at 7 p.m.

We are open to the public Monday from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. – 7 p.m. If Ashley Schools are delayed or closed due to weather conditions, we are also delayed or closed. The week of Christmas we will only be open on Thursday, Dec. 28 from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.

We offer access to Ancestry.com if you would like to come in and research your family history. We also have wi-fi,three-weekk book checkouts, interloans from other libraries, and free movie rentals. There is a book drop box in our entryway for returning books anytime. It is accessible 24/7.

The Lego club will be meeting on Thursday, Dec. 21 from 3 - 4 p.m. This is for grades one - six. Call the library at (989) 847-4283 Extension 1007 if you have any questions.
